                                                                  Jenny and Samantha

This is one of the Thrift Shop customers, Jennie, and her dog Samantha.

Samantha occasionally visits our shop. She is a 10 1/2 year old Husky Shepherd cross. Samantha has been Jennie's companion since she was a puppy.

Samantha has a big country yard to pay in. She loves to chase squirrels but is afraid of
coyotes. She likes car rides and we are always happy to see her when she comes to check out our store. Today she looked around, smelled some of our candles and then enjoyed a treat

Here is an update of some items we currently have for sale

We have a very pretty assortment of etched glasses for 25 cents each. Cutlery is 10 cents each and we have a selection of dish sets from everyday to  complete sets of English China as well as pots and pans, a new wok and pretty much everything for the household.

Volunteers Needed-Join Our Thrift Shop Team

If you enjoy helping animals we could use your help in the Thrift Shop. If we had more volunteers, the Thrift Shop could extend its hours of operation. A note to high school students who are looking for some place to do their 40 hours of community service. What a great place to gain some retail and customer service experience for that resume and at the same time know that what you are doing is contributing greatly to the needs of the animals in our shelter. People are needed to work in all areas: sorting merchandise, pricing and sales. We have now found a handy person, who has offered to help us with small jobs around the store. Thank you to John!!  There is however always room for more people who are able to repair furniture or perhaps refinish some items. Keith is our newest handyman. He has been a great help to us and to the shelter.

Thank You

Thanks to all our volunteers for their hard work and commitment to the U.C.H.S. Thrift Shop...and for the continued support from our customers and donors.
Thank you to everyone who came to the shop on Saturday January 26th for our Antique appraisal day. Special thanks to Mike of Hampton Antiques for his time. It was a lot of fun and we are planning another Antique appraisal day so stay tuned for date and time!!!

Donations

We welcome donations any time we are open. Due to limited space we cannot accept large items such as appliances however small pieces of furniture and gently used household items are very much appreciated.
We are now making space available for a small selection of ladies clothing. If you have new or like new
items, please feel free to drop them off whenever we are open. Again due to lack of space we cannot
accept children's clothing at this time.
